Week of May 31 - June 4

Weekly Agenda coming later!!!

Woohoo!!! We are down to 10 days. I know we are going to finish the year strong. We are still working hard and I know that from our participation and work. They know that if it is not up to par, that means more work for them. To celebrate their hard work, we will have Gator Games on this Tuesday, June 1st.

For Gator Games, we are asking that students do not wear bathing suits but they can bring a change of clothes. This year, Gator Games will look a little different, of course. Our theme is Gator Game Olympics and the country we are representing is Chile. Since we do not have field day shirts, the students can use old white t-shirts to draw their country's flag or anything symbolic of that country, paint their face the colors of the country's flag, or dress in appropriate clothing symbolic of Chile. We have researched Chile and even created a one pager with some fun facts about it. So they are more than prepared. They do not have to dress as if they were from Chile or even wear something with the flag, it's just an idea since we did not sell shirts this year. This way, everyone can participate.

We also celebrated by having a fun class lemonade stand contest. They had to make signs for their "lemonade stand" and I had other teachers judge them using 3 different categories: creativity, persuasiveness, and an actual lemonade stand sign. Everyone received something but the 1st place winners received  a large bottle of Bubbles, the" honorable mention" winners received a smaller "Superhero" bottle, and everyone received a BlowPop for participating. This is a week of celebrations as you can tell. We also had those who participated in the Reading Counts program. Let's congratulate those who won prizes for earning Reading Counts prizes:
