Week of March 29th

Well, here's to another long weekend!!! I hope their asynchronous day went smoothly. I was in the Google Classroom during my office hours and a few of them reached out to me. Remember, Monday, March 29th, is the new Spring picture day. Students can bring a change of clothes so they can feel comfortable after taking their picture. Also, remember we are out Friday, April 1st in observance of Good Friday! Y'all, I can't believe Spring Break is already here. We will be out from April 1st-April 9th. We will return on April 12th. MAP testing will happen the following week. Are you ready for the countdown to summer?!  Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see their bright faces on Monday!!

Well, we made it through another week!! We have a few more to go and Spring Break will be here before we realize it. We began the week with finishing up our book clubs and are finishing the week with our "College Day". You will see pics from both below. We were out Thursday and I'm glad the district thought of our safety first. Another good thing was we do not have to make up a day for being out, thanks to the virtual world. This week, we will have 2 asynchronous days, in which the students will stay home but log on to our Google Classroom and go through the Pathway to complete assignments. The 2 days are this Thursday and Friday, March 25th and March 26th. No new learning will occur on those days, but students will still be responsible for completing and turning in assignments to be graded. Students will log on at 9 and will be working virtually from home on both days on material that we have already covered. My office hours both days will be from 9-11 AM in case there

Hopefully, everyone had a chance to rest at home today..... a time to recharge. We are getting closer to the end of the 3rd nine weeks, which will be on March 31st. Some important reminders, please make sure your child has a set of headphones, a water bottle or bottles (disposable seems to work better), and a blanket for sitting on when we have lunch outside. They really enjoy being able to sit outside and enjoy their lunch. Last but not not least, they will take Spring pictures on this Thursday (March 18th). If you would like to send clothes for them to change into after they take their picture, that is definitely fine.  Please enjoy the pictures below the agenda from our morning Book Clubs!! ___________________________________________________________________________________ COMMUNITY NEWS Important Upcoming Dates   Friday, March 12: Student Holiday/Teacher Workday Monday, March 22: Phase 3 Learning Model Begins Thursday, March 25-Friday, March 26: Asynchronous eLearning Days Wednesda

Time's winding down really quick for us this year!! We are now going into the second week of March. I have really enjoyed watching the kids in their book clubs. They have worked hard, are collaborating with each other, and getting prepared for their next book club. Below are some pictures from our book club and some of the posters the kids made to represent their book club. I want to congratulate Ethan and Michael for their Reading Counts points and awards. I would love for everyone to strive to receive these prizes but I do not force the kids to test. I know we are all  reading and working hard. Look below for the awesome pictures of  Ethan and Michael with Mrs. Medlock and Mrs. Bush. Congratulations guys!! This week, we will continue studying author's purpose in reading, text dependent analysis writing, fractions in math, and culture in social studies. The vocabulary they have for fractions will be tested on this coming Friday. Quick checks and assessments have been denoted o
