Week of February 1
Good afternoon Parents,
I am so glad we had another splendid week. We finished our "edible rocks". I think the kids really enjoyed the activities. Thank you all again for sending in the supplies. Hopefully, by now, you have had the chance to read the email from Mr. Williams about Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, in the circumstance w are currently in, it would be too much moving and transferring of items going on to celebrate Valentine's safely.
Also, today begins our Virtual Book Fair. The kids should have already shared the flyer from Mrs. Medlock with you.
Last week was awesome! We finished the addition section of chapter 8 in math, summarizing in reading, and took our assessment on rocks and minerals. Our writing unit will be ongoing, focusing on text dependent analysis (TDA). This will incorporate reading and writing skills. This week, we will focus on point-of-view, subtraction with regrouping, natural disasters, and our text dependent analysis writing.

Grief Support for Students and Families
The camp is open to youth ages 5-18 and their caregivers who have experienced the loss of a loved one in the past three years (must have at least one adult attend with the camper). Materials will be mailed in advance, including grief journals, activity supplies, and t-shirts. There is a $20 administrative fee (per family) to help offset the administrative time of processing applications; HOWEVER if that fee is a financial hardship, families can apply for an application fee waiver after their applications have been accepted and confirmed.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd online at www.camphandsofhope.org. Registration will remain open until spaces are filled. To learn more, see the brochure/flyer.
